What to do in Swellendam and near surrounding?
Swellendam is well positioned for various sight-seeing tours to different attractions and activities:
- De Hoop Nature Reserve: An wonderful daytrip to
observe Zebras , Bontebok and other kind of antelope and animals. Offers
very good opportunity to have a swim in the Indian Ocean in one of the
natural tide pools or to watch the whales. It's a must for everybody who
wants to experience an original and wild part of Africa.
- Drostdy Museum: Open-air museum complex with several historic
buildings. It invites you to be part of the life in the past. A beautiful rose garden is
included also.
- Golf: 9 whole course with picturesque views on the Langeberg mountains
- Bontebok National Park: Watch the beautiful Bontebok, Cape Mountain Zebra, grey rhebok, interesting bird life etc.. Enjoy the walk on the picturesque Breede River and explore the rich flora.
- Marloth Nature Reserve: wonderful walks to waterfalls, indigenous
forest and to the top of the Langeberge.
